Updating the engine
How to update NEX1ON from the panel or by hand, what happens to the database, and how to go back.
With a licence key — from the panel
Enter the key in “Settings → General → Updates”. When a new version is out, a notice appears on the dashboard; it leads to “System → Updates → Engine”, where the changes are listed. Press “Download and install”: the engine downloads the archive, checks its size and fingerprint, puts the files it replaces into `storage/backups/files-*.zip` and lays the new ones over the old. Your `config/database.php`, `config/local.php`, `storage/` and `public/uploads/` are not touched. Then the database updates itself: a backup first, then the table changes.Without a key — by hand
Upload the new files over the old ones by FTP, open “System → Updates → Engine”, press “Make a database backup”, then “Apply”.The engine installs nothing without your press
It only asks whether a new version is out. What goes to us is the site domain, the engine version, the PHP version and the licence key — nothing else: no content, no visitors, no settings. The engine does not download an archive that has no fingerprint. If you do not apply the database
The site quietly runs on the old tables: nothing breaks and nothing new appears. That is why the dashboard says so in red.Going back
Before an update the engine makes a database backup (`storage/backups`) and sets the replaced files aside. To roll back, return the files from the archive and restore the backup: the “Backups” page in the panel, or `php nex1on db:restore <file> --yes`.Обновлено 01.10.2026
